Description:
A growing, privately held upstream oil & gas company in Irving, TX is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting professional to join its team. The company is backed by family office capital and has built a diversified portfolio of approximately 1,000 operated wells across the Permian Basin, Texas, and Louisiana.
This is an opportunity to join a small, stable and growing organization where you will have significant ownership of the revenue accounting function, exposure to leadership, and a potential path to Controller as the company continues to grow through acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the company's oil & gas revenue accounting activities.
- Handle revenue-related reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close responsibilities.
- Prepare and assist with journal entries and other general accounting functions.
- Work closely with leadership and the company's outside CPA firm.
- Take on broader accounting responsibilities as the company and asset base continue to grow.
Qualifications
- Strong upstream oil & gas revenue accounting experience required.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership within a smaller accounting team.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats beyond traditional revenue accounting.
- Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and general accounting.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
This is not a large corporate accounting environment. The company offers a flat, laid-back culture with strong employee tenure and job stability. Leadership is focused on building a sustainable, cash-flowing E&P business rather than simply acquiring assets to flip the company.
