Job Detail: Sr. Designer/Drafter

Walker Elliott has partnered with our client to locate a Designer/Drafter who has the ability to work with minimal supervision using AutoCAD to produce complete detailed drawings.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD to produce final drawings from marked-up drawings, sketches or written instructions
• Use AutoCAD to detail the company's product lines
• Become familiar with product inspection tools and measurement of actual parts to produce drawings
• Use electronic document control system for logging in and checking out drawings

Other duties and responsibilities

• Maintain competency in the drafting tools and techniques used to produce drawings
• Become proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and current drafting standards
• Become familiar with other drafting packages, such as Inventor and SolidWorks
• Provide guidance and technical support to CAD Operator-I
• Review and check drawings produced by CAD Operator-I
• Provide drafting support as requested by peers, engineers and project managers
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or lead draftsperson

Qualification requirements

• Associate degree or drafting certificate with 2+ years of drafting experience; or 4+ years of related experience without a degree; or 5+ years of related experience without a certificate
• Intimate knowledge of AutoCAD
• Basic math skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable
