Job Detail: Sr. Azure Application Engineer

Description:

Our client is an established enterprise modernizing their Azure cloud infrastructure to support a growing portfolio of SaaS and microservices-based solutions. They are seeking a contract-based Senior Azure Platform Engineer to take a hands-on role building and operationalizing scalable, secure cloud environments, working closely with teams across infrastructure, DevOps, networking, security, and application development.

This position is onsite 4 days a week in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Provision and support Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure in live production environments

• Establish and operationalize Azure governance frameworks and policy controls

• Develop and maintain IaC deployments using Terraform and Terraform Cloud

• Build and support automated CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub

• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute engineering recommendations

• Design and implement Azure networking and security controls in collaboration with networking and security stakeholders

• Produce operational documentation, deployment procedures, and engineering runbooks

• Diagnose and resolve issues across Azure platform services and deployed environments

• Partner with internal infrastructure teams to advance Azure cloud engineering maturity and operational standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering roles

• Deep hands-on Azure engineering experience in production environments

• Solid experience with Azure PaaS services and cloud-native platforms, including container hosting, traffic management, virtual networking, private connectivity, Key Vault, Managed Identities, storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Policy, and Log Analytics/Azure Monitor

• Strong Terraform and IaC experience

• Hands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines

• Experience implementing secure-by-design Azure infrastructure and governance practices

• Strong understanding of Azure networking and connectivity concepts

• Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub

• AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or Terraform Associate certification a plus
