Senior ERP Application Developer - Progress/OpenEdge

This Houston-area manufacturer operates in a fast-paced, Agile environment and is looking for a seasoned application developer to support and enhance a customized enterprise resource planning platform. The role is onsite five days a week, and the company will relocate the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain custom ERP applications and system integrations.

• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions across multiple teams.

• Build and support REST APIs and application services using modern backend frameworks.

• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and support deployment pipelines.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, conduct code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

• Produce technical documentation and provide mentorship to junior developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience

• Extensive experience with Progress 4GL and OpenEdge application development

• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, SQL, and Linux/Unix environments

• Hands-on experience with Progress databases, and OpenEdge Studio, PASOE, WebSpeed

• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and API testing tools

• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tooling, including GitHub, Azure DevOps and Jenkins

• Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Experience with Kendo UI, .NET, or MS SQL Server is a plus
