Job Detail: Data Solutions Architect/DBA

Description:

Our client, an independent exploration and production company, is looking for an experienced Data Solutions Architect who has a strong foundation in oil and gas data environments. This position is well-suited for someone who has built and supported large-scale data platforms, overseen SQL database operations, and integrated data from key industry systems. The ideal candidate will be able to blend strategic planning with hands-on execution to deliver dependable data solutions that improve operational insight and efficiency. This role is onsite daily.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable data architectures that align with operational and analytical needs in the oil and gas industry.
• Create, manage, and optimize integrations that bring data in from disparate oil and gas systems.
• Work closely with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into solution designs.
• Maintain strong data quality, data consistency, and security practices across multiple platforms.
• Enhance data storage, performance, and retrieval processes for both speed and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide direction and technical expertise to teams working on data-driven initiatives.
• Monitor data pipelines, warehouse processes, and integrations to ensure smooth and reliable operations.

Requirements

• Experience working as a DBA/Data Solutions/Data Engineer or similar role in oil and gas operations.
• Previous background as a SQL Database Administrator. Specifically database performance tuning, optimization.
• Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Extensive experience in data integration and workflows with Oil and Gas systems such as: Scada (Cygnet), ProCount, Aries, Wellview, Aries.
• Deep experience in SQL and data modeling.

Advantageous

• Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms like Azure or Snowflake.
• Data governance practices and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with reporting tools and business intelligence solutions.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

This role is on site in downtown Houston daily. 9-80s schedule.
