Description:
A privately held upstream oil & gas company based in West Houston is looking to add a standout, experienced Landman to their team. This position will play a key role in supporting operated assets across Texas and will be immersed in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values precision, professionalism, and thoughtful execution. The focus is for someone with a strong in-house operational experience. Clearing the way for drilling!
What You'll Bring:
- At least 4 years of in-house land experience with a focus on Texas operations
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy Commerce, Petroleum Land Management, or a related field
- A strong grasp of Texas title, contract negotiation, and surface access issues
- Demonstrated ability to manage title complexities and find creative solutions
- High attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple active projects
What You'll Do:
- Draft, negotiate, and manage oil & gas leases and a wide range of surface agreements (easements, ROWs, water agreements, subsurface access, etc.)
- Monitor and manage lease and contract obligations, ensuring timely payments and renewals
- Analyze and cure title; verify ownership and handle unit formation or PSA negotiations as needed
- Support all stages of the well lifecycle - from location planning through to production - by working closely with land admin, GIS, drilling, regulatory, and other disciplines
- Participate in joint development efforts, preparing and negotiating relevant agreements
- Conduct diligence on acquisitions and contribute to integration of new assets
- Cultivate positive relationships with landowners, partners, and other stakeholders
