Software Engineer
Our client, a well established power company is growing. They were established over 20 years ago and are looking to add a Software Engineer to their IT team. This is a direct hire opportunity and has an in-office schedule 5 days a week.
Role Overview:
The Software Engineer develops, tests, and implements advanced software applications, leveraging customer input to design solutions. Knowledge of the electric power industry and its systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write clean, scalable code in .NET languages (e.g., C#, VB.NET).
- Maintain and optimize SQL databases.
- Collaborate on software design and architecture.
- Analyze requirements and provide technical support as well as on-call production support.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL and NERC CIP standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field with a programming focus.
- 3+ years of experience as a software developer.
- Proficient in .NET frameworks, SQL Server, and enterprise software design.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with power generation and/or power industry concepts.
- On-site, full-time role in Houston.
