Job Detail: Sales Application Engineer

Walker Elliott has partnered with its client to locate a Sr. Application Engineer who would be providing technical support to potential and existing customers regarding the application - genset products.  The candidate is expected to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the primary contact for the internal Technical Sales Support group concerning application inquiries.
• Test products within their applications.
• Engage directly with customers, both remotely and on-site, to address detailed application-related questions.
• Create training materials for both internal and external audiences.
• Provide marketing insights to the Product Line Manager based on interactions with Sales and Customers.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Communications group to draft marketing materials.
• Participate in industry conferences and societies.
• Conduct webinars and customer training seminars.
• Attend internal Basler training and coordination events.
• Support sales efforts to ensure customer acceptance of Basler products by:
  • Responding to application and product-related inquiries before sales.
  • Offering training on product and application basics to sales teams and target customers.
  • Communicating detailed technical information to the proposal team or Product Line Manager for quoting large or complex opportunities, potentially involving site visits.
  • Addressing application-related questions as they arise.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), relevant professional experience, or technical experience.
• Experience in power systems and/or generators.
• Familiarity with power system simulation and coordination software.
• Interest in emerging aspects of power systems, such as DC power, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and microgrids.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.
