Job Detail: Progress OpenEdge Developer

Description:

Well-established and growing manufacturing and distribution company based in Houston is looking to add a Sr. Progress / OpenEdge Developer to their team. Candidate must be in Houston or willing to relocate to the Houston area for this direct-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop customized ERP system solutions to address business challenges.

• Apply creative problem-solving to enhance existing solutions.

• Design, create, and implement engaging and timely content.

• Manage multiple Agile projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

• Analyze requirements and create technical end-user content.

• Test software, report issues, and ensure content aligns with product functionality.

• Follow and contribute to company content standards and process improvements.

Requirements:

• Technical B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experience.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and Progress (4GL) programming.

• Strong knowledge of SDLC, Linux, Unix OS, Progress database administration, code testing, and debugging.

• Familiarity with application integration, UNIX scripting, web programming, and SQL queries.

• Experience with Progress OpenEdge development, Progress AppServer, and source control systems.

• Kendo UI experience is preferred

• Competence in API and .NET applications with SQL server databases.

• Effective presentation and communication skills.

• Leadership capabilities and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.

• Adaptable to industry trends and adept at creating technical documentation.

• Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
