Job Detail: Sr. Operations Accountant

Description:

Walker Elliott is working with a Central Houston E&P group that offers a hybrid WFH schedule. They are seeking a Sr. Accountant to support the Operations Accounting Team. Direct visibility to the Management team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries for the close process, including accruals for lease operating expenses, capital, units of production depletion, and proved and unproved impairments.

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and roll-forwards on a timely basis

• Ensure timely completion of monthly account reconciliations and roll-forwards

• Develop visualization tools to better analyze operations

• Analyze actual results against forecasts and present detailed variance explanations to management

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in oil and gas accounting.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.

• Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
