Job Detail: Operations Manager

Description:

Walker Elliott is working with a specialty manufacturing client that is looking for an Operations Manager to lead the daily operations in facilities, warehouses, freight, inventory management and sales order processing. The role is direct hire and located on the west side of Houston.

Responsibilities:

• Work with order processing manager to oversee of sales order processing, measuring output and KPIs.
• Work with inventory manager to implement checks and balance withing inventory management and freight.
• Lead and direct warehouse operations, including process improvement, documentation, layout.
• Work with facilities supervisor to maintain safe and efficient facilities.
• Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors.
• Oversee purchasing, vendor selection, best practices.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of operations management (team is 20 mostly hourly employees, 2 direct)
• Hands on with ERP/MRP that has inventory management required (GP Dynamics is advantageous).
• Experience with warehouse and transportation, shipping LTL, FTL, Intermodal and ocean freight.
• Experience leading, training and improving workforce.
• Be a team player, creating and maintaining professional relationships within the team.
• Flexible to work in a fast-paced environment.
